Wednesday was a great day for MAGLAB. Prof. Ripka, together with M. Janosek and M. Butta visited the M. Acuna magnetic test facility of the NASA, located in the wood just a few miles from Washington (where Intermag/MMM conference is currently in progress).
Thanks to Todd Bonalsky we could admire the biggest triaxial Braunbeg coil in the world!
The facility has been recently restored and restarted up by Mr. Bonalsky thanks to his admiring work, which gave back to the scientific world this important triaxial coil, which has been also used to test satellites as ST5.
We learned a lot about the tricks Mr. Bonalsky and his team employed to optimize the facility and have it running perfectly.
Thank Todd for this great experience!
